“Dorsalgia” is pain in the back that may originate from the muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones, joints or other structures in the spine. The pain can be in one or more areas that may involve the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacral or pelvis regions. It may occur suddenly or can be a chronic pain; it can very in frequency, stay in one place or radiate to other areas. The pain may be sharp, dull, piercing or burning sensation. The pain may radiate into the arm, forearm or hand. It may radiate from the low back or pelvis into the leg and/or foot that may include symptoms such as weakness, numbness or tingling.
